Why Sandakphu-Phalut Trek ?
On reaching Sandakphu you will see the Sleeping Buddha Range along with many other historic mountains including Everest.
If you are an North-East Indian, you can get to Siliguri by overnight journey from most of the East cities.
Very easy trek for beginners which can be completed in 7 days.
Indo Nepal Tibetan culture will enchant you.
Best trek to get an idea about the Indo-Nepal border experience.
Who can do this trek?
You can prepare yourself physically by exercising regularly before the trek. Contact Team The Trekking Buddha to inquire about fitness for the trek.
For now we took our 12 year old kids on this Sandakphu trek too, but before coming to the trek talk to the team and get advice.
Being physically fit for the trek is essential, but one thing to keep in mind is that there is no such thing as an ultimate level of fitness.

Base Camp: DHOTREY
Pickup Point: New Jalpaiguri Railway Station
Pick up dates :5 NOV, 22NOV ,27 DEC
Getting to base camp –Dhotrey, The transport will be arranged at 8:30 PM from New Jalpaiguri.
Day 2 : Dhotrey to Tumling/Tonglu, 5 km, 3-4 hours.
Day 3 : Tumling/Tonglu to Kalipokhari, 7 km, 5-6 hours.
Day 4 : Kalipokhari to Aal via Sandakphu, 5 km,5-6 hours.
Day 5 : Sandakphu to Thukum ,7 km, 3 hours.
Day 6 : Thukum to Phalut, 11 km, 6 hours.
Day 7 : Phalut to Gorkhey, 12 km, 6 hours.
Day 8 : Drop dates : 12 NOV,29 NOV,2 JAN 2026
Trek and drive to New Jalapaiguri by 7pm
